Genserve opened it's doors in 1995 in Pasadena, California to provide technical support for the initial end-user system, InfoSpan, that Visa designed as its data warehouse tool when its commercial card program was introduced. The initial focus was to train the marketing staffs at issuing banks on InfoSpan’s technical aspects including the receiving, loading, and reporting upon transactional data. This evolved into accompanying the marketing staff on sales calls and demonstrating the effectiveness of a purchasing card program and its underlying technical tools. Ultimately, Genserve was contracted by the largest Visa issuing banks to provide data assurance, data warehousing, technical support, and data distribution for their entire portfolio of commercial card users. Result: Our client banks captured 90+% of the commercial card market.
In 1999, Genserve was contracted by banks to support the implementation of the GSA Purchasing Card program – the largest in the world. This included providing bridge processing (receiving, processing, reporting upon, and distribution of transactional data) as a service bureau for 900,000+ cards issued to the Department of Defense. After about 1 year, the respective banks’ data processing infrastructure assumed this responsibility.
In 2000, Genserve was contracted by MasterCard to be their data consolidator for extended travel data. Immediately, Genserve interfaced with ATPCO and SABRE to receive GDS data. This has given Genserve extensive experience and knowledge concerning the TCN format. Data delivery points include TSYS. PaymentNet, Diners, and MasterCard.

Today, Genserve receives and processes data from all over the world – including Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia - in a variety of proprietary formats using a wide variety of data communications and encryption methodologies.
